I am beginning to collect donations for Hike and the ride. So if you have any extra change I know a great place for it.
Day One (July 29th)
Today was first day of riding on our trip. The ride itself was not that bad. (58 miles) The Bay City rail trail is beautiful
and cornfields make awesome bathrooms. Tonight we set camp at Linwood Campground and Marina and ate dinner. A mixture of Mushroom
soup, soy burger, peas and rice. It sounds bad but is delicious. We settled down with a good book. (Hary Potter and the deathly
Hollows) Tomorrow we will be going a little longer than today (63 miles) and hope there is different scenery other than cornfields.Thank
you everyone who has sent me e-mails of support.
Talk to you tomorrow bye

room is awesome. it is the same size as one at the Amway. except we
have a microwave.
There was some construction and that was kinda scary. My brother Chandler went as slow as molasses. We went swimming in
lake huron and we had our first pit stop for a new tire. my tire blew in Omer and i have the WORST tan line ever!!! But overall
having a great time.
Will write again tomorrow. Once again thanks everyone!!!

Day Three (July 31st)
We started our day off with a wonderful breakfast at the Days Inn in Tawas. We left earlier this time because we had
heard that it was going to get very hot today. We had an easy day planned (only 33 miles) and it was a great ride. The breeze
from the lake helped keep us cool. We went swimming in Lake Huron half way through the ride and had lots of fun. The last
few miles of the ride had some tough hills to climb but going down them made things very easy. We arrived in Harrisville to
set up camp and went swimming and ate. We had Mozzerella sticks, Fried Mushroom and pizza at a place in Harrisville.
I have had many people notice our T-shirts and have asked about HIKE. Some people recognize us from the newspaper articles
in the Bay City Times and my local paper in Caro and tell us we are doing a great thing. After dinner we decided to ride a
little more to help cut some miles off of tomorrow so we rode another 10 miles and were picked to go back to camp.
Well it has been a great day and thank you for helping me with your e-mails. Talk to you tomorrow.

Day Four (August 1st)
Today we started around 10 am in morning and it was already getting hot.We rode about 33 miles today. There were
many hills and not much tree cover to keep the sun off us. We cooled off by pouring our water bottles over our heads
to keep cool. We have met so many nice people along the trip and so many interested in HIKE and Job's Daughters. We are staying
at the Grand Lake Resort tonight in Presque Isle. The owners have been so nice to us and have donated two room for us. (Thank
you). The game area is so cool. It has so much to do.
There is a raft in Grand Lake to jump off of. That is so much fun! Tomorrow we head to Cheboygan.Talk to you tomorrow.

Day Five (August 2nd)
Headwinds, Storm fronts, and Slipery Bathtubs.
Today was a very difficult day. In the morning we started our ride around ten and were met by many hills to climb. We
tackled most pretty well in the begining, but as the day went on the hills got steeper and the wind got stronger. A storm
front came through around three o'clock and made things very rough. I could barely pedel through the wind. We ended up taking
a break to get past the front. During our break the wind blew our bike down on top of each other and bent my mother's back
rim. Afterwards we rode into Cheyboygan and found our hotel room. I was ready for a relaxing night and went to take
a shower. Unfortunately the tub was slipery from the shower before mine and I slipped and cut my head open. My relaxing
night turned into a night at the hospital. I had a cut just above eye on my eylid and did not need stiches or have a concussion.
Yet I was lucky enough to get a Tetanus shot for my trouble. The doctor said I am fine to keep riding and should only
be a little sore tomorrow. We will get a late start tomorrow as we will get Mom's back rim fixed in the morning. Then it is
a short ride of 15 miles to the Bridge. Thank you everyone who is visiting my site. My dad has told me about how many people
have visited this site. WOW!!!! The e-mails have really kept me going.

Today was a short ride to the Mackinaw bridge. We were able to take a rail trail to escape the traffic of US 23. When
we were near Mill Creek you were able to see a beautiful site of the bridge through a clearing. Once we crossed the bridge
I was interview by the St. Ignace newspaper about our trip. I told them I am really glad to do this for our charity. After
my interview we rode our bikes to the hotel (Boardwalk Inn) We were able to sit and have dinner in the their breakfast room
which was very cool. It was nice to take a bath with a bathmat so no injuries tonight!!! I will be getting picked up around
8am with Ebony to go to School of Instruction tomorrow and look forward to seeing everyone especially my best friend
Elise.
See you tomorrow

Day Six and Seven
Hoorraayy we made it!!!!!!
Saturday I was picked up by my Grandmother Sonja and taken to the Alma picnic and School of Instruction. I thought that
the picnic was very nice and I enjoyed going down the slide. It was great!!!! The food at the picnic was very good and I loved
the cotton candy. After the picnic we went to the school of Instruction in Mt. Pleasant. We learned the bible ceremony for
the exemplifications and played a mean game of 7up. During the School other Grand bethel Representatives were initiated
into Bethel #107 of Paauweland (fictional place). LOL. During the sleepover we had ice cream that Mom Goeman went and
got for us. (Thank You). We woke up the next day and had the church service. Way to go Laurel!!! Great job. My Dad, Elise
and I all traveled back to St. Ignace to finsih the trip. We got to St. Ignace and hopped on my bike and rode through
the U.P. on the Old Macinaw Trail. as we got closer to the Soo we were able to see a buffalo stampeed on a farm. That
was so cool. We pulled into our camp site around 7:30 that night. I had accomplished this great thing!!!!
This bike ride was very fun and exciting. It was also very tiring and exausting, but I can not describe the feeling of
joy that I have that I have acomplished this ride. I would like to thank everyone that has donated to my ride and and Hike
and all the support I have gotten along the way. I really enjoyed doing this and hope to do it again next year.
